Applied Radio Labs has extensive experience in consultancy and outsourced R&D projects.   We have completed projects in the following areas:

• radio hardware development (from individual modules such as synthesizers,  through to complete demonstration systems)

• radio system design and simulation

• critical design review

• RF problem solving

We recently completed a demonstration ISM band spread-spectrum packet radio system operating at 2.45GHz with a throughput of 10Mbps.   This whole system,  including diversity selection, despreading,  chip synchronisation,  carrier recovery,  adaptive equalisation and packet formatting was implemented in a single Altera EPLD.   The analogue part of the radio started / ended at the IF which was directly generated / sampled digitally.  The modulation was 64QAM.  The implementation loss was less than 2dB (most of which was due to several deliberate design compromises).
